The Project Management Methodology (PM²), also known as Open PM² or simply PM², has been developed by the European Commission with the intention of providing a common approach and language for the management of all types of projects. The European Commission started working on the first versions of PM² around 2006, with an initial focus on internal use. However, in view of its enormous potential, it decided in 2018 to organise an international conference to offer PM² to the whole world under an Open approach, allowing its use with the only condition of mentioning the original source. Both the PM² Guide and additional documentation are available for free download.
According to the PMI, Pulse of Profession® 2020, 20% of projects in Europe in 2020 will be carried out using hybrid methodologies, i.e. combining several methodologies or, very often, using predictive management and agile management. And it is very likely that this percentage will continue to grow in the coming years, given the need to combine the control of predictive management with the adaptability and speed of delivery of agile management.
The EC, with the PM2 and PM2 Agile methodology, offers a practical and simple solution to predictive management, although PM2 Agile is aimed at software development projects with simple adaptations can be taken to any other type of project. In this course you will learn about PM2 Agile and you will have the opportunity to get certified.
